New - Thinking About Visiting?

We’d LOVE to help!

DO YOU KNOW WHAT’S REALLY SPECIAL ABOUT US HERE AT CSBC?

NOTHING! Absolutely nothing! If you are looking for a perfect church then you are going to be very disappointed with us. At CSBC you’ll find real people, with real problems, who live real lives, and are all learning to love a real God whose grace is more than enough for all our needs.

You see, at CSBC we don’t need to cling to our own “special-ness” or “goodness” because of the cross of Jesus Christ. At His cross we find that none of us are really “good” at all. In fact, at Jesus’ cross we discover that we are unquestionably guilty and yet can be unconditionally forgiven.

At the cross we learn that Christ does NOT want to condemn us in our sins but to save us from them. At the cross we find that God receives us just where we are but He loves us enough not to leave us there. God can and will change lives. He is changing us and can change you as well.

Here at CSBC there are only people. People like me. People like you. People like us. People who desperately need God’s grace. Everyone is welcome to come and receive that grace. We invite you to join us on this life-changing journey.

We are a collection of lives changed by JESUS. Whether you have been burned by religion, made mistakes, or haven’t been to a church in years (or ever) we invite you to join us. Every woman, man, girl and boy—every age, every race—can find a home in God. You matter to God and you matter to us!

We don’t celebrate us. We celebrateJESUS! It’s ALL about Him!

Let us know how we can help.

Sunday Worship Gathering 10:00 am

  • We’re much more concerned with people’s hearts than what they wear. Feel free to wear what you are comfortable with, whether that’s a suit or shorts and a t-shirt. Our only requirement is…wear something!

We know that visiting a new church can be a bit awkward or intimidating, so don’t worry, we won’t ask you to do anything that will embarrass or single you out in any way. Coffee is on us, our worship team will play a few songs and each week’s message lasts for about 30 minutes and overall, service lasts about just over an hour.

No matter where you’re from or how you got here, you matter to God and you matter to us.

WE ARE GRATEFUL THAT YOU WOULD CHOOSE TO SPEND AN HOUR OF YOUR WEEKEND WITH US AT CSBC!

Ways to connect at CSBC

There are several ways to participate in groups and worship at CSBC. Whatever your comfort level, there are opportunities for you to join in community and draw closer to Jesus.

We also offer many ways to find our services and many events throughout the week and year.

  • Welcome Home to Chestnut Street Baptist Church! Thank you for your interest in us wherever you may be in your journey with Christ! We are a collection of lives changed by Jesus. We are passionate about showing God’s love and telling His story. We are a community of unlikely friends following Jesus together in a weary, broken world - where NOTHING functions as it should or was created to, including us. Our world is filled with tension, anxieties, anger, broken homes, broken relationships, hurt, murder, famine, natural disasters and broken weather, broken governments, and people desperately searching for hope. We feel called to create a rare place where relationships are formed that don't make sense according to the world. Relationships that offer forgiveness, serving one another, encouraging one another, and accepting one another.

We didn’t all come from a storybook Christian home. Those who worship here represent differing political views, backgrounds, hurts, and everyday life experiences. We care for everyone, including people with various intellectual and physical disabilities, all those suffering in poverty, addiction, divorce, people in crisis, people from broken homes, and others who are neglected or are mistreated. We are an extraordinary family built on the life and teaching of Jesus! We believe church was Jesus' idea and when we combine our time, talents, and gifts, we're a force for tremendous and eternal hope.
